{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-82.115","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 82.115","heading":"Contract of inducement.","body":"A city may in the discretion of its governing body enter into contracts of inducement with\ngovernmental agencies, and pursuant thereto may make a conveyance or lease of, or grant\nan option to acquire or lease, such lands, with or without site improvements,  utility\nservices, buildings, structures or other improvements, upon such terms and conditions as\nin the discretion of the governing body of the city may appear to be in the best interests of\nthe public health, safety or general welfare of the citizens and inhabitants of the city. In its\nexercise of such discretion the governing body of the city may ascertain and declare as a\nlegislative determination of fact, by ordinance duly adopted and made effective according\nto law, that by reason of immediate benefits to the city or to its citizens and inhabitants, or\nby reason of ultimate benefits reasonably to be anticipated in the way of relieving the city\nof public welfare obligations, facilitating proper municipal planning, increasing\nopportunities for gainful em ployment, increasing sources of tax or other revenues, or\notherwise, a contract of inducement shall be made with a governmental agency in the\npublic interests without concurrent tangible consideration in terms of cash or property,\nand solely or partly in anticipation of such prospective public benefits.","path":["KRS Chapter 82"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=25045","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:43Z","sha256":"889fbce791504db644458f6f1e89ec350ba8939ef59ecfba0d10de9c646942ef","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-82.110","next":"us-ky/krs-82.120"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
