{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-82.610","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 82.610","heading":"Citation for parking violation -- Notice.","body":"(1) If any motor vehicle is found parked, standing or stopped in violation of a parking\nordinance passed by the local government, the vehicle may be cited for the\nappropriate parking violation.  The citing officer shall note the vehicle's registration\nnumber and any other information concerning the vehicle which will identify it and,\nif the driver is not present, shall conspicuously affix to the vehicle a notice of the\nparking violation.\n(2) The form of the notice of the parking violation shall be designated b y the local\ngovernment, but shall contain in substance the following information:\n(a) A statement that the notice represents a determination that a parking violation\nhas been committed by the owner of the vehicle and that the determination\nshall be final unless contested as provided in KRS 82.600 to 82.640;\n(b) A statement that a parking violation may result in impoundment of the vehicle\nfor which the owner may be liable for a fine and towing, handling and storage\ncharges or fees;\n(c) A statement of the specific parking violation for which the citation was\nissued;\n(d) A statement of the monetary penalty established for the parking violation; and\n(e) A statement of the options provided in KRS 82.600 to 82.640 for responding\nto the notice and the procedures necessary to exercise these options.\n(3) The notice of parking violation represents a determination that a parking violation\nhas been committed, and such determination shall be final unless contested as\nprovided in KRS 82.600 to 82.640.","path":["KRS Chapter 82"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=25074","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:43Z","sha256":"098921a7e7bfd4841e969f35e0eca08a961d559e92cc4384bd526df2d7fb401a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-82.605","next":"us-ky/krs-82.615"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
