{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-82.615","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 82.615","heading":"Response to notice.","body":"(1) Any person who receives notice of a parking violation shall respond to such notice\nas provided in this section within seven (7) days of the date of the notice, by either\npaying the fine set forth in the notice or requesting a hearing pursuant to KRS\n82.620.\n(2) If the owner of a vehicle cited for a parking violation has not responded to the\nnotice within seven (7) days as provided in subsection (1) of this section, the local\ngovernment shall send a second notice by regular, first -class mail of the United\nStates Postal Service to the last known address of the registered owner of the\nvehicle as listed on the certificate of title. Such notice shall state that if the owner of\nthe vehicle does not respond to the notice by either paying the fine or by requesting\nin writing a hearing pursuant to KRS 82.620, within seven (7) days of the receipt of\nthe notice, the owner shall be deemed to have waived his right to a hearing and the\ndetermination that a violation was committed shall be considered final. Any person\nwho f ails to request a hearing or pay the fine within the seven (7) days shall be\ndeemed to have refused to pay the fine levied by the citation.\n(3) The registered owner of a vehicle at the time the violation occurred shall be liable\nfor all fines, fees and penalties which he has refused to pay.","path":["KRS Chapter 82"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=39865","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:43Z","sha256":"4b1e564540eb0616f84885cd76fc25b0d0ea1bd68840e58b357a668bfbc467b3","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-82.610","next":"us-ky/krs-82.620"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
