{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-82.650","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 82.650","heading":"Definitions for KRS 82.660 and 82.670.","body":"As used in KRS 82.660 and 82.670, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Major structural change\" means structural alterations and structural repairs made\nwithin any twelve (12) month period costing in excess of fifty percent (50%) of the\nphysical value of the structure, as determined by comparison of the extent/value of\nthe alterations involved and the replacement value of the structure at the time the\nplans for the alteration are approved, using the Building Officials Conference of\nAmerica (BOCA) chart for construction cost;\n(2) \"Ordinary repairs\" means nonstructural reconstruction or renewal of any part of an\nexisting building for the purpose of its maintenance or decoration, and shall include\nbut not be limited to the replacement or installation of nonstructural components of\nthe building, such as roofing, siding, windows, storm windows, insulation, drywall\nor lath and plaster, or any other replacement that does not alter the structural\nintegrity, alter the occupancy or use of the building, or affect  by rearrangement,\nexitways and means of egress; and\n(3) \"City\" means a city of any class or a consolidated local government but does not\nmean an urban-county government.","path":["KRS Chapter 82"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=25081","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:43Z","sha256":"00b41c83b84b85126f18a80191c36afff264483f6251a6e511cab66126f941f6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-82.640","next":"us-ky/krs-82.660"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
