{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-83a.090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 83A.090","heading":"City administrative officer.","body":"(1) Each city may create the position of city administrative officer which shall be\ndirectly responsible to the executive authority of the city.  Prior to appointment of a\ncity administrative officer, the city legislative body shall in accordance with KRS\n83A.080 set qualifications, which shall include but not be limited to professional\ntraining and experience in administration sufficient to insure competence, and list\nduties and responsibilities of the position which shall include, but not be limited to\nthe following:\n(a) Advise the executive authority of the city in policy formulation on overall\nproblems of the city;\n(b) Have major responsibility for preparation and administration of operating and\ncapital improvement budgets under direction of the executive authority;\n(c) Advise the executive authority of the city in the appointment of subordinate\nadministrative personnel if not delegated appointment authority by appropriate\norder; and\n(d) Have continuing direct relationships with operating department heads  on\nimplementation and administration of programs.\n(2) The city administrative officer shall carry out all additional duties lawfully\ndelegated by appropriate order of the executive authority and shall have the same\npowers as the executive authority in carrying out such duties.","path":["KRS Chapter 83A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=25178","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:44Z","sha256":"23984fcb6c1a08dcd7f492afe83be0c88ebf8836082b77f998c99228b5b47444","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-83a.088","next":"us-ky/krs-83a.100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
