{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-91a.350","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 91A.350","heading":"Local tourist and convention commissions -- Continued funding.","body":"(1) The local governing bodies of counties containing cities of the first class and the\nlocal governing bodies of the cities of the first class located therein may, by joint or\nseparate action, establish tourist and convention commissions for the purpose of\npromoting convention and tourist activity. The local governing body of a\nconsolidated local government may establish or maintain tourist and convention\ncommissions for the purpose of promoting convention and tourist activity.\n(2) Except in a county containin g a consolidated local government, the local governing\nbodies of counties containing an urban -county government and counties containing\ncities of the home rule class and the local governing bodies of the cities of the home\nrule class located therein may, b y joint or separate action, establish tourist and\nconvention commissions for the purpose of promoting and developing convention\nand tourist activities and facilities.\n(3) The local governing bodies of two (2) or more counties may jointly establish tourist\nand convention commissions for the purpose of promoting convention and tourist\nactivities and facilities.\n(4) The local governing bodies of two (2) or more counties, which may include a\nconsolidated local government, may jointly establish tourist and conve ntion\ncommissions for the purpose of promoting convention and tourist activities and\nfacilities.\n(5) Tourist and convention commissions may continue to fund recreational activities or\nprojects not related to tourism or conventions that were funded by the c ommission\nprior to July 13, 1990, at a level no greater than that provided by the commission in\nthe 1990 fiscal year.\n(6) For the purpose of promoting recreational, convention, and tourist activity in cities\nand counties served by joint playground and recr eation boards established under\nKRS 97.035; to provide the boards with the same authority to issue revenue bonds\ngranted to cities by KRS 58.010 to 58.150 and 103.200 to 103.285; and to authorize\nthe boards to build and issue bonds for facilities located o n leasehold and\npermithold land.","path":["KRS Chapter 91A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43675","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:49Z","sha256":"e1e8afa773829948104196a09118870270d2bf39a26926889de63f3ce575f41d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-91a.345","next":"us-ky/krs-91a.360"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
