{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-91a.550","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 91A.550","heading":"Definitions for KRS 91A.550 to 91A.580.","body":"As used in KRS 91A.550 to 91A.580, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Board\" means any appointed board of directors, or any existing governmental\nagency designated pursuant to the ordinance establishing a management district;\n(2) \"City\" means a city of the home rule class;\n(3) \"Economic improvement\" means any activity or service for the improvement and\npromotion of a management district that is of special benefit to property within the\ndistrict, but shall not include any service ordinarily provided  throughout the city\nfrom general fund revenues unless an increased level of the service is provided in\nthe management district;\n(4) \"Fair basis\" means assessed value basis, front foot basis, square foot basis, or\nbenefits received basis;\n(5) \"Legislative body\" means the legislative body of any city of the home rule class;\n(6) \"Management district\" means an area designated by a legislative body pursuant to\nKRS 91A.555 to 91A.580, that is to be benefited by economic improvements and\nsubjected to the payment of special assessments for the costs of the economic\nimprovements;\n(7) \"Property\" means any real property benefited by economic improvements; and\n(8) \"Special assessment\" means a special charge fixed on property to finance economic\nimprovements in whole or in part.","path":["KRS Chapter 91A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43678","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:49Z","sha256":"259b9f6bdb8c77640b9a0c24d9bc8de484d59443a25850056296b101d945c394","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-91a.530","next":"us-ky/krs-91a.555"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
