{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-95.625","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 95.625","heading":"Military service of member, effect on alternative pension fund provisions.","body":"Any member of the police or fire department of a city that has adopted the alternative\npension fund provisions authorized by KRS 95.621, who, while a member of the police or\nfire department entered the armed forces of the United States, and who was honora bly\ndischarged therefrom shall upon his return to that police or fire department be entitled to\nthe same pension or benefits provided by KRS 95.621 to 95.629 as if the member had\nremained on active duty with that police or fire department, and his time ser ved in the\narmed forces shall be added to his previous service and shall be construed for purposes of\neligibility for pensions or benefits, either for himself or his beneficiaries, as a part and\ncontinuation of his consecutive years of service with that police or fire department; except\nthis section shall apply only to those members who served in World War II or any\nemergency conflict called by the President of the United States, who apply for\nreinstatement within ninety (90) days after the date on which the member first received or\ncould have received an honorable discharge and shall not apply to those members\nreenlisting in the armed forces of the United States.","path":["KRS Chapter 95"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43721","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:55Z","sha256":"436549cdbd706467f3764372d5c26e0e84411910be2089843598aca0685458e9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-95.624","next":"us-ky/krs-95.626"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
