{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-95.763","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 95.763","heading":"Appointment of civil service commission -- Qualifications -- Term --","body":"Vacancies -- Officers -- Oath.\nThe mayor, by and with the approval of the legislative body, shall appoint three (3)\ncitizens, who have been taxpayers and voters of the city for five (5) years previous to their\nappointment, and who shall not be less than thirty (30) years of age, who shall constitute\nthe civil service commission of said city. Such appointees shall originally be appointed\nfor one (1) year, two (2) years and three (3) years, respectively, and the successors of such\nappointees shall be appointed in like manner, each for a period of three (3) years. Any\nmember of the civil service commission shall be eligible for reappointment. Vacancies\nshall be filled in the same manner as  appointments of said commissioners are made,\nprovided that any person appointed to fill a vacancy shall serve only to the end of the term\nof the commissioner whose office was vacated. Said commissioners shall elect one (1) of\ntheir members as chairman and one (1) as secretary of the civil service commission.
