{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-95a.210","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 95A.210","heading":"Definitions for KRS 95A.200 to 95A.300.","body":"As used in KRS 95A.200 to 95A.300, unless the context otherwise requires:\n(1) \"Commission\" means the Kentucky Fire Commission established pursuant to KRS\n95A.020;\n(2) \"Established work schedule\" means a work schedule adopted by or required of a\nlocal gover nment setting a recurring pattern for time on and off duty for\nprofessional firefighters employed by the local government. An established work\nschedule includes but is not limited to a schedule of twenty -four (24) consecutive\nhours on duty, followed by forty-eight (48) consecutive hours off duty;\n(3) \"Executive director\" means the executive director of the Kentucky Fire\nCommission;\n(4) \"Fund\" means Firefighters Foundation Program Fund;\n(5) \"Local government\" means any city, county, urban -county government, charter\ncounty government, unified local government, consolidated local government, air\nboard created under KRS Chapter 183, or any combination thereof of the\nCommonwealth;\n(6) \"Professional firefighter\" means any member of a paid municipal fire department\norganized under KRS Chapter 95, 67A, or 67C, a fire protection district organized\nunder KRS Chapter 75, a county fire department created pursuant to KRS Chapter\n67, or any firefighter employed by an air board created under KRS Chapter 183;\n(7) \"Program\" means the Alan \"Chip\" Terry Professional Development and Wellness\nProgram for firefighters established in KRS 95A.292;\n(8) \"Scheduled overtime\" means work by a professional firefighter in excess of forty\n(40) hours per week which regularly recurs as part of  an established work schedule;\nand\n(9) \"Unscheduled overtime\" means work by a professional firefighter in excess of forty\n(40) hours per week which does not regularly recur as part of an established work\nschedule.","path":["KRS Chapter 95A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=50256","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:57Z","sha256":"a7cbda7872c80cb44d8a4078a6d6b6dd7b8c68ca482a5f8a59888e4f3edaff65","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-95a.200","next":"us-ky/krs-95a.220"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
