{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-95a.260","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 95A.260","heading":"Purposes for which assistance by fund may be used.","body":"(1) Funds made available to local governments shall be received, held, and expended in\naccordance with the provisions of KRS 95A.200 to 95A.300, any rules and\nregulations issued by the commission, and the following specific restrictions:\n(a) Funds provided sha ll be used only as a supplemental distribution to\nfirefighters, and for payments to the defined benefit pension plan to which the\nfirefighter belongs to cover retirement costs on the supplemental distribution.\n(b) Funds provided shall be distributed only t o firefighters who have complied\nwith subsections (3) and (4) of KRS 95A.230.\n(c) Each firefighter shall receive distribution of the state supplement which his or\nher qualifications brought to the local government.\n(d) Funds shall not be used to supplement  existing salaries or as a substitute for\nnormal salary increases periodically due to firefighters.\n(2) This section shall not apply to funds expended pursuant to KRS 95A.240(3).","path":["KRS Chapter 95A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=26145","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:57Z","sha256":"23c19bc9baa9ad47f5d52b1c4886a2eb90ddeb58ab9b9bdca70af991e350053e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-95a.250","next":"us-ky/krs-95a.262"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
