{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-96.5395","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 96.5395","heading":"Public hearing required for city -owned or city -controlled electric","body":"generating facility considering acquiring property for wind -based electric\ngenerating facility.\n(1) Any city -owned or city -controlled electric generating entity shall hold a public\nmeeting in any county where acquisition of real estate or any interest in real estate is\nbeing considered for construction of a wind -based electric generating facility. A\nrequest for a public meeting may be made by any city or county governmental entity\nwith jurisdiction. The meeting shall be held not more than thirty (30) days from the\ndate of the request.\n(2) The purpose of the meeting is to fully inform the public, landowners, and other\ninterested parties of the full extent of the project being considered, including the\nproject time line. One (1) or more representatives of the city -owned or city -\ncontrolled electric generating entity with full knowledge of all aspects of the project\nshall be present and shall answer questions from the public.\n(3) Notice of th e time, subject, and location of the meeting shall be posted in both a\nlocal newspaper, if any, and a newspaper of general circulation in the county.\nNotice shall also be placed on the Web site of the city -owned or city -controlled\nelectric generating entity.\n(4) A person that, on or before April 10, 2014, has started acquiring interests in real\nestate for a project as described in subsection (1) of this section shall hold a meeting\nthat complies with this section within thirty (30) days of April 10, 2014.","path":["KRS Chapter 96"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=42959","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:58Z","sha256":"a24921ded0e704d28fdc4d46634b6019de813ff39578dc627e4733e38a17ce68","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-96.539","next":"us-ky/krs-96.540"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
