{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-96.901","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 96.901","heading":"Authorization for municipal utility operating under KRS 96.550 to 96.900 to","body":"participate in group purchasing program.\n(1) A municipal utility that owns or operates an electric utility under KRS 96.550 to\n96.900 may authorize:\n(a) Membership and particip ation in a group purchasing program when the\nmunicipal utility deems that the purchase of power through a group\npurchasing program can affect economy or efficiency in the operations of the\nmunicipal utility; or\n(b) The purchase of wholesale electric power for the purpose of resale from any\nperson or entity when the purchase is deemed advantageous to the municipal\nutility.\n(2) \"Group purchasing program\" means a voluntary program that may consist of both\npublic and private utilities for the purchase of wholesale electric power.\n(3) A municipal utility that is purchasing wholesale electric power for resale to the\nultimate customers of the municipal utility as provided under subsection (1) of this\nsection shall not be subject to the provisions of KRS 45A.365 and KRS 424.260.","path":["KRS Chapter 96"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=26298","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:49:58Z","sha256":"54cb4e18db622ca6c22a9d4fa347ea688714a306fb1f05248514dc921dda00db","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-96.900","next":"us-ky/krs-96.905"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
