{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-97.550","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 97.550","heading":"Local governments may acquire property for parks or playgrounds --","body":"Appointment of park board -- Terms of office.\n(1) Cities of any class, counties, charter counties, and urban -county governments may\nacquire, by purchase or donation, property for the pu rpose of maintaining public\nparks or playgrounds within the jurisdictional limits.\n(2) The city legislative body, the fiscal court, or the legislative body of a charter county\nor an urban-county government may appoint a park board of not more than eight (8)\npersons, whose qualifications shall be prescribed by the city legislative body or\nfiscal court, and whose terms of office shall be for two (2) years and until their\nsuccessors are appointed and qualified, except that three (3) members of the first\nboard appointed shall be appointed for terms of only one (1) year. The members of\nthe board shall not receive any salary for their services.
