{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-99.600","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 99.600","heading":"Moratoriums on property assessment or reassessment.","body":"(1) Any local government may by ordinance establish a program granting property\nassessment or reassessment moratoriums for existing residential properties or\ncommercial facilities for the purpose of encouraging the repair, rehabilitation,\nrestoration or stabil ization of existing improvements thereon.  Any such program\nshall be established pursuant to the provisions of KRS 99.595 to 99.605 and\n132.452 and shall specify the duration of effect for such assessment or reassessment\nmoratoriums provided that any moratorium for an individual property certified by a\nlocal government shall not exceed five (5) years.\n(2) The assessment or reassessment moratorium shall become effective on the\nassessment date next following the issuance of the moratorium certificate by the\nadministering agency.\n(3) The taxable assessment of property qualifying for an assessment or reassessment\nmoratorium shall be that assessment provided for in KRS 99.605(2).\n(4) On the assessment date next following the expiration, cancellation or revocat ion of\nan assessment or reassessment moratorium, property shall be assessed on the basis\nof its full fair cash value.\n(5) Any property granted an assessment or reassessment moratorium may be eligible for\na subsequent moratorium certification provided that  reapplication be made no\nsooner than three (3) years following the expiration of the original moratorium, or\nany other moratorium, and provided that such property shall otherwise meet the\nrequirements for the assessment or reassessment moratorium.","path":["KRS Chapter 99"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=26563","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:02Z","sha256":"61253833b4e251012dd5de4bc8d703f4044e6501ba5508af963600bb10d0e594","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-99.595","next":"us-ky/krs-99.605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
