{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-99.810","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 99.810","heading":"Abatement by owner -- Bond -- Failure to abate -- Petition costs.","body":"(1) If the court finds after a hearing that the conditions for conservatorship have been\nestablished, but the owner represents that the conditions will be abated in a\nreasonable period, the court may allow the owner to proceed to remedy the\nconditions.\n(2) If the owner is allowed to proceed with abatement, the court may require the owner\nto post a bond in the amount of the repair costs estimated in the petition as a\ncondition to retaining possession of the building.\n(3) The court shall additionally enter an ord er providing that, if the conditions are not\nabated by the owner by a specific date or that other specified remedial activities\nhave not occurred by a specific date or dates, an order appointing a conservator\nshall be entered.\n(4) In the event the owner br ings the property into compliance with all applicable\nhousing, building, and nuisance code requirements or sells the property subject to\nthe conservatorship, the owner shall reimburse the petitioner for all reasonable costs\nincurred by the petitioner in preparing and filing the petition.","path":["KRS Chapter 99"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51836","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:50:02Z","sha256":"50c8018bffa950a0a54fe0b7cebc151a33a7c18bfccdf1041802f2404996327e","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-99.805","next":"us-ky/krs-99.815"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
