{"data":{"id":"us-la/rs-40-1071.6","jurisdiction":"us-la","citation":"RS 40:1071.6","heading":"Obesity; criteria for classification as a disease","body":"The state health officer shall classify obesity as a disease in all cases where the person's body mass index (BMI) is 30 kg/m2, or where a person's body mass index (BMI) is 27 kg/m2 or greater and the person suffers from one or more of the following conditions or diseases:\n(1) Type II diabetes.\n(2) Impaired glucose tolerance.\n(3) Hyperinsulinemia.\n(4) Dyslipidemia.\n(5) Hypertension.\n(6) Cardiovascular disease.\n(7) Gastric reflux disease.\n(8) Gall bladder disease.\n(9) Osteoarthritis of the hips or knees.\n(10) Sleep apnea.\n(11) Cerebrovascular disease.","path":["TITLE 40.
