No person shall hold himself out as a pharmacy technician registered by the board of pharmacy unless that person is registered in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.\nAny person acting or purporting to act as a pharmacy technician registered by the board of pharmacy without being registered to practice under this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon a conviction shall be punished by a fine of not more than $5,000 or by imprisonment for a term not to exceed one year or both.
