SAVING PROVISIONS\n(a) Except as provided in subsection (b), the repeal of chapter 181 shall not affect:\n(1) the operation of said chapter 181 or any action taken under it before its repeal;\n(2) any ratification, right, remedy, privilege, obligation, or liability acquired, accrued, or incurred under said chapter 181 before its repeal;\n(3) any violation of said chapter 181, or any penalty, forfeiture, or punishment incurred because of the violation, before its repeal; or\n(4) any proceeding commenced under said chapter 181 before its repeal, and the proceeding may be completed in accordance with said chapter 181 as if it had not been repealed.\n(b) If a penalty or punishment imposed for a violation of said chapter 181 is reduced by chapter 156D, the penalty or punishment if not already imposed shall be imposed in accordance with this chapter.","path":["Part I","Title XXII","Chapter 156D"],"source_url":"https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartI/TitleXXII/Chapter156D/Section17.03","current_through":"amendments passed before May 31, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T05:23:42Z","sha256":"826f48423656300f80126f96c546835d4010dd18d09bd870b2ecac53fc413857","source_id":"us-ma","stale":false,"prev":"us-ma/mass.-gen.-laws-ch.-156d-17.02","next":"us-ma/mass.-gen.-laws-ch.-156d-17.04"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
