Continuing jurisdiction to enforce child support order.\n(a) A tribunal of the commonwealth that has issued a child support order consistent with the law of the commonwealth may serve as an initiating tribunal to request a tribunal of another state to enforce:\n(1) the order if the order is the controlling order and has not been modified by a tribunal of another state that assumed jurisdiction pursuant to the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act; or\n(2) a money judgment for arrears of support and interest on the order accrued before a determination that an order of a tribunal of another state is the controlling order.\n(b) A tribunal of the commonwealth having continuing jurisdiction over a support order may act as a responding tribunal to enforce the order.","path":["Part II","Title III","Chapter 209D"],"source_url":"https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartII/TitleIII/Chapter209D/Section2-206","current_through":"amendments passed before May 31, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T05:24:39Z","sha256":"924d461f9fc4af5d225bb34fae16c9facedb90acecaefe0100baba647711e69e","source_id":"us-ma","stale":false,"prev":"us-ma/mass.-gen.-laws-ch.-209d-2-205","next":"us-ma/mass.-gen.-laws-ch.-209d-2-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
