The fees of commissioners appointed under section four of chapter two hundred and twenty-two shall be as follows:\nFor administering oaths and certifying the same under their official seals, one dollar for each; for taking acknowledgments of deeds and other instruments and certifying the same under their official seals, one dollar for each; for each written page contained in any deposition or affidavit taken by them, fifty cents; for administering the oath or affirmation to each deponent, one dollar; for authenticating, sealing up and directing each deposition, one dollar; for services not hereinbefore specified, the same fees as are allowed to justices of the peace in this commonwealth for like services; but the court to which a deposition is returnable shall order further allowance therefor if it appears proper to do so.","path":["Part III","Title VI","Chapter 262"],"source_url":"https://malegislature.gov/Laws/GeneralLaws/PartIII/TitleVI/Chapter262/Section42","current_through":"amendments passed before May 31, 2026","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-17T05:25:08Z","sha256":"58c32818ccf95fd7945a3c0183e9fdc3b4f537c8b39e4a89262665d0d568d106","source_id":"us-ma","stale":false,"prev":"us-ma/mass.-gen.-laws-ch.-262-41","next":"us-ma/mass.-gen.-laws-ch.-262-43"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
