Code, Agriculture § 10–401","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Commercial Maryland Native Plant List” means a list of plants that are native to Maryland that are commercially available and appropriate for growing in residential or commercial landscapes.\n(c) (1) “Native plant” means a plant that occurs naturally in the State and surrounding region, ecosystem, and habitat, without direct or indirect human actions.\n(2) “Native plant” includes a plant that:\n(i) Was present before colonial settlement; or\n(ii) Is listed as native to Maryland on the Maryland Plant Atlas website.\n(d) “Native Plant Specialist” means the University of Maryland Extension agent hired under § 10–403 of this subtitle.\n(e) “Program” means the Maryland Native Plants Program.","path":["Article - Agriculture"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gag\u0026section=10-401","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:55:53Z","sha256":"afa5ae89616a005261718d015cc27f9f7f3695ce8b0121077547dee9f2ca5d42","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-10-303","next":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-10-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
