Code, Agriculture § 13–212","heading":"","body":"(a) A license may not be issued or renewed under this subtitle until the applicant has:\n(1) (i) Filed with the Secretary a financial statement, as provided in subsection (b) of this section, establishing the net worth of the applicant’s grain business; or\n(ii) Posted a surety bond, irrevocable letter of credit, or cash guaranty at least as large as the following amounts for the different types of licenses:\nType of license Minimum amounts\nA $ 15,000\nB $35,000\nC $100,000\nD $100,000; and\n(2) Demonstrated proof of insurance coverage as required by this subtitle.\n(b) (1) An applicant for a Type A or B license shall submit a financial statement that:\n(i) Is prepared and signed by a person other than the applicant or a member of the applicant’s business or family;\n(ii) Establishes a net worth for the applicant; and\n(iii) Is signed by the applicant.\n(2) A Type C or D license may not be issued or renewed under this subtitle until the applicant has:\n(i) Filed with the Secretary a financial statement reviewed by a certified public accountant establishing the net worth of the applicant’s business as provided in paragraph (3) of this subsection; or\n(ii) Filed with the Secretary a letter from a certified public accountant stating that a review of the applicant’s business records shows a net worth as provided in paragraph (3) of this subsection.\n(3) The financial statement shall indicate a minimum net worth for each type of grain dealer’s license as follows:\nType of license Minimum amounts\nA $ 15,000\nB $35,000\nC $100,000\nD $100,000","path":["Article - Agriculture"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gag\u0026section=13-212","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:55:53Z","sha256":"9151f9dd390528cc3bc044a1a2019fe0ba80ba7ac0f25dd08b3dfd9dbf2e512a","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-13-211","next":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-13-213"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
