Code, Agriculture § 2–1604","heading":"","body":"// EFFECTIVE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2032 PER CHAPTER 92 OF 2022 //\n(a) There is a Spay/Neuter Advisory Board.\n(b) The Advisory Board consists of:\n(1) The Secretary, or the Secretary’s designee; and\n(2) The following members, appointed by the Secretary:\n(i) One representative of a private animal shelter;\n(ii) One veterinarian;\n(iii) One representative of a local animal control agency;\n(iv) One representative of the pet food industry; and\n(v) Two representatives of animal welfare advocacy organizations.\n(c) The Secretary shall designate the chair of the Advisory Board.\n(d) The Department shall provide staff support for the Advisory Board.\n(e) A member of the Advisory Board:\n(1) May not receive compensation as a member of the Advisory Board; but\n(2) Is entitled to reimbursement for expenses under the Standard State Travel Regulations, as provided in the State budget.\n(f) The Advisory Board shall advise the Department with respect to:\n(1) The administration of the Fund;\n(2) The solicitation and evaluation of competitive grant proposals;\n(3) Appropriate additional standards for grant proposals;\n(4) Additional relevant data that the Department should require from local animal shelters and appropriate animal control organizations;\n(5) The adoption of regulations that implement this subtitle; and\n(6) Any other appropriate matter with respect to the implementation of the Fund in the discretion of the Department.","path":["Article - Agriculture"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gag\u0026section=2-1604","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:55:53Z","sha256":"1d840a76b39a126bfcd0bf1fc7f3ec3dc9952b7f2ac7f27fa21d084022bcd021","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-2-1603","next":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-2-1605"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
