Code, Agriculture § 2–2001","heading":"","body":"(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.\n(b) “Farm product” means:\n(1) Any agricultural, horticultural, vegetable, or fruit product of the soil, whether raw, canned, frozen, dried, pickled, or otherwise processed;\n(2) Livestock, meats, marine food products, poultry, eggs, or dairy products;\n(3) Wool, hides, feathers, nuts, or honey; and\n(4) Every product of farm, forest, orchard, garden, or water.\n(c) “Fund” means the Urban Agriculture Grant Fund.\n(d) “Program” means the Urban Agriculture Grant Program.\n(e) “Qualified applicant” means an agricultural producer, a nonprofit organization, or an institution of higher education that meets the qualifications established in § 2–2004 of this subtitle.\n(f) “Urban agricultural producer” means any person that annually sells, or normally would have sold, $1,000 or more of farm products in an urban area.\n(g) “Urban area” means an area of the State that is:\n(1) Delineated as an urban area by the U.S. Census Bureau; or\n(2) Within the boundaries of a municipal corporation.","path":["Article - Agriculture"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gag\u0026section=2-2001","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:55:53Z","sha256":"037680bd483e576c5e6335a6838b810f942c6592cdb171c0f5296613a5188d4f","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-2-1901","next":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-2-2002"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
