Code, Agriculture § 2–712","heading":"","body":"(a) A license expires on June 30 after its effective date, unless the license is renewed for a 1–year term as provided in this section.\n(b) At least 1 month before a license expires, the Board shall send each licensee, by electronic means or first–class mail to the last known electronic or mailing address of the licensee, a renewal form and a renewal notice that states:\n(1) The date on which the current license expires;\n(2) That the renewal application and fee must be received by the Board on or before the license expiration date; and\n(3) The amount of the renewal fee.\n(c) Before a person’s license expires, a licensee periodically may renew the license for additional 1–year terms, if the licensee:\n(1) Otherwise is entitled to be licensed;\n(2) Pays to the Board a renewal fee of $125; and\n(3) Submits to the Board a renewal application on the form that it requires.\n(d) A person who is licensed to operate a horse establishment has a grace period of 60 days after the person’s license expires to renew the license retroactively, if the person:\n(1) Otherwise is entitled to renew the license;\n(2) Submits to the Board a renewal application on the form required by the Board; and\n(3) Pays to the Board the renewal fee and any late fee set by the Board.\n(e) The Board may reinstate the license of a former licensee if the former licensee:\n(1) Applies for the reinstatement more than 60 days after the license renewal deadline;\n(2) Otherwise is entitled to renew the license;\n(3) Submits to the Board an application for reinstatement on the form required by the Board; and\n(4) Pays to the Board a reinstatement fee and the renewal fee set by the Board.","path":["Article - Agriculture"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gag\u0026section=2-712","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:55:53Z","sha256":"0574dd7c4e4fe7fc5e62f3dd4bed3167cf6c394f95e05af22f8c6d95f83d6707","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-2-711","next":"us-md/md.-code-agriculture-2-713"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
