Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 1–304","heading":"","body":"(a) A member of the Commission may not:\n(1) have a direct or indirect financial interest, ownership, or management, including holding any stocks, bonds, or other similar financial interests, in the alcohol, tobacco, or cannabis industries;\n(2) have an official relationship to a person who holds a license or permit under this article or Title 16, Title 16.5, Title 16.7, or Title 16.9 of the Business Regulation Article;\n(3) be an elected official;\n(4) receive or share in, directly or indirectly, the receipts or proceeds of any activities conducted in the alcohol, tobacco, or cannabis industries;\n(5) have a beneficial interest in any contract for the manufacture or sale of any device or product or the provision of any independent consulting services in connection with a holder of a license or permit issued under this article or Title 16, Title 16.5, Title 16.7, or Title 16.9 of the Business Regulation Article; or\n(6) accept a contribution of money or property worth at least $100 from an entity or individual associated with the alcohol, tobacco, or cannabis industries with respect to the regulation of alcohol, tobacco, or cannabis.\n(b) A member of the Commission shall file a financial disclosure statement with the State Ethics Commission in accordance with Title 5, Subtitle 6 of the General Provisions Article.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=1-304","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"bc5d999c9bd89fd4c945c9e36a64c9734d6473e5df711cd41d7d2a8b230d84db","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-1-303","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-1-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
