Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 11–204","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The chair of the Board shall receive an annual salary of not more than $18,000 and reimbursement for expenses reasonably incurred.\n(2) Each other member of the Board shall receive an annual salary of not more than $15,000 and reimbursement for expenses reasonably incurred.\n(b) (1) The Board may employ:\n(i) inspectors, subject to § 11–206 of this subtitle; and\n(ii) clerical and other assistants as are necessary.\n(2) The Board shall employ:\n(i) a full–time executive director whose annual salary shall be fixed by the Board as in a general county classified salary schedule, within pay grade 17;\n(ii) a full–time administrator whose annual salary shall be fixed by the Board as in a general county classified salary schedule, within pay grade 16;\n(iii) two full–time secretaries whose annual salaries shall be fixed by the Board as in a general county classified salary schedule, within pay grade 13;\n(iv) a full–time chief inspector whose annual salary shall be fixed by the Board as in a general county classified salary schedule, within non–represented pay schedule NR–05; and\n(v) an attorney at an annual salary of $60,000.\n(3) (i) The Board may hire an attorney on a contractual basis to perform work that the attorney employed by the Board is unable to perform because of a conflict of interest.\n(ii) The Board may spend not more than $30,000 each year to hire a contractual attorney under subparagraph (i) of this paragraph.\n(4) Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, the Board may set the compensation of the employees.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=11-204","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"0b81fcdbc618f613784c99b6701727628ed2b96690a5b0a6022ff2867a3708db","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-11-203","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-11-205"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
