Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 11–206","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) The Board may employ:\n(i) one part–time deputy chief inspector at an annual salary of $18,000; and\n(ii) 18 part–time inspectors at an annual salary of $7,000 each.\n(2) Each inspector shall receive a monthly expense allowance of $300, subject to the approval of the Executive Director.\n(b) An inspector:\n(1) has all the powers of a peace officer or sheriff in the State arising out of or relating to the enforcement of this article;\n(2) may serve a summons under § 11–2604 of this title; and\n(3) may issue a civil citation under § 11–2605 of this title.\n(c) An inspector shall take the oath required by Article I, § 9 of the Maryland Constitution.\n(d) (1) An inspector shall provide a penalty bond of $2,000 to the Board and the County Council jointly on the condition that the inspector faithfully perform the duties of office.\n(2) The county shall pay the cost of the bond.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=11-206","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"54aa10ad68945513a6aa4d078ce0e46454ed5f8442ea609057f6935e334dc120","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-11-205","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-11-207"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
