Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 16–1308.1","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a beer, wine, and liquor (BWL) tasting license.\n(b) The Board may issue the license to a holder of a beer, wine, and liquor (BWL) license.\n(c) The license authorizes the license holder and the holder of a solicitor’s permit to allow the consumption of beer, wine, and liquor for tasting by a customer or an employee of the license holder if:\n(1) the license holder is authorized to sell the beer, wine, and liquor; and\n(2) the customer or the employee is not charged for the beer, wine, and liquor.\n(d) The Board shall regulate:\n(1) the quantity of beer served to each individual;\n(2) the number of bottles or other containers of beer from which the quantity is served;\n(3) the size of the beer bottles or other containers;\n(4) the quantity of wine served to each individual; and\n(5) the number of bottles of wine from which the quantity is served.\n(e) An individual may consume liquor at a liquor tasting in a quantity of not more than:\n(1) one–half ounce from each offering of liquor; and\n(2) five offerings in 1 day.\n(f) A license is valid during business hours.\n(g) In addition to the cost of a BWL license, the annual license fee is $150.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=16-1308.1","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"25a6bf7e7ccc98bc102c76a557d63226ef17a4149e985bee01916dd015b968d7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-16-1308","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-16-1311"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
