Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 18–1004","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “resort complex” means a parcel or contiguous parcels of land:\n(1) of at least 20 acres;\n(2) under common ownership; and\n(3) with facilities that:\n(i) include a venue for golf, waterfront beach activities, or a marina;\n(ii) serve the public; and\n(iii) resulted in a capital investment of at least $550,000 exclusive of the cost of the land.\n(b) There is a resort complex license.\n(c) The Board may issue one resort complex license to the person owning or operating a resort complex.\n(d) The license authorizes the license holder to sell beer, wine, and liquor from:\n(1) one or more outlets in the resort complex that may be consumed in conjunction with the playing of music and dancing at designated locations in the resort complex; and\n(2) one designated outlet in the resort complex for off–premises consumption.\n(e) A license holder may serve alcoholic beverages:\n(1) at one or more outside outlets in the resort complex on Monday through Sunday, from 6 a.m. to midnight;\n(2) at one or more inside outlets in the resort complex:\n(i) on Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. the following day; and\n(ii) on Sunday, from 6 a.m. to midnight; and\n(3) at one designated outlet for off–premises consumption:\n(i) on Monday through Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. the following day; and\n(ii) on Sunday, from 6 a.m. to midnight.\n(f) A resort complex license is exempt from any quota or restriction on off–sale licenses issued for the election district in which the resort complex is located.\n(g) (1) Certain areas in a resort complex may be excluded from the portion of the property that is considered to be the licensed premises.\n(2) A person other than the resort complex license holder may obtain a different class of license for an area excluded under paragraph (1) of this subsection.\n(h) The annual license fees are:\n(1) $3,500 for two outlet locations; and\n(2) $1,750 for each additional outlet location.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=18-1004","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"6f9c4b345b928e93ac5193dd4955fae2db821d5da0e1c2b49340543777ff3567","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-18-1002.2","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-18-1101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
