Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 18–2302","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) On the death of a married license holder or a license holder that holds a license for the benefit of a partnership or corporation, on application to the Board, a new license shall be issued to:\n(i) the surviving spouse;\n(ii) the surviving partners for the benefit of the partnership; or\n(iii) the senior surviving officer of the corporation for the benefit of the corporation.\n(2) The new license shall be issued:\n(i) for the balance of the license year; and\n(ii) without further proceedings.\n(b) (1) A renewal license may be issued to the following if they are qualified to hold the license:\n(i) the surviving spouse;\n(ii) the surviving partners of a partnership; or\n(iii) the senior surviving officer of a corporation for the benefit of the corporation.\n(2) The Board may issue a renewal license under this subsection without a hearing.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=18-2302","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"0dc48d69c9acf2f6bb2882a7cee5da16f0cb385c9367427886229ee18e743d69","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-18-2301","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-18-2401"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
