Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 18–2501","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, an unlicensed establishment that offers or provides live entertainment may not, at a location under the control or possession of the establishment, sell, serve, keep, or allow to be consumed:\n(1) alcoholic beverages;\n(2) setups; or\n(3) other component parts of mixed alcoholic drinks.\n(b) As long as live entertainment is not offered or provided on more than 8 days in a calendar month, the following are exempted from the prohibitions in subsection (a) of this section:\n(1) the room of a registered guest in a hotel or motel;\n(2) property owned by a volunteer fire company;\n(3) property owned and operated by a community or homeowners association composed only of property owners in a single subdivision; or\n(4) property owned by a religious institution.\n(c) A person that violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 2 years or a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=18-2501","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"0959198201ba1a7d214e419db51c4be0f5cd87218c86405e080d60095ae350b8","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-18-2403","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-18-2502"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
