Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 18–901","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a Class A beer, wine, and liquor license.\n(b) (1) The license authorizes the holder to:\n(i) sell beer, wine, and liquor at retail at the place described in the license; and\n(ii) serve beer, wine, and liquor for tasting and sampling if:\n1. the tasting or sampling is held on the licensed premises; and\n2. the holder serves not more than 1 ounce from each serving of beer, wine, or liquor, in a container that holds not more than 4 ounces, to any one individual.\n(2) The license holder shall deliver the beer, wine, or liquor in a sealed package or container that may not be opened or its contents consumed on the licensed premises.\n(c) A license may not be issued for a drugstore unless the applicant:\n(1) has been doing business at the location applied for in the license for at least 1 year before the date of the application for the license;\n(2) is the assignee of a business established for at least 1 year before the date of the application for the license at the location applied for; or\n(3) has been engaged in the retail drug business for at least 3 years.\n(d) The annual license fee is $960.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=18-901","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"47a47478df64ed5327ed51f9e93c77042a913a4bfaa280f3a1dbdb9045f3dfb2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-18-805","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-18-902"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
