Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 22–1601","heading":"","body":"(a) For every 4,750 individuals in the county, as specified by the Maryland Department of Health, the Board may not issue more than:\n(1) one Class A (off–sale) license;\n(2) one Class A–1 (off–sale) license; or\n(3) one Class A–2 (off–sale) license.\n(b) If the number of licenses in a class exceeds the quota specified in subsection (a) of this section, the Board may not issue a new license of that class unless the number of licenses of that class is reduced by revocation or surrender, creating a vacancy under the particular quota specified.\n(c) This section does not apply to the transfer, conversion, or renewal of a license.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=22-1601","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"fabbdad5c0ae864b1718e8b5bd0b92c789a9afde34383c058c9340c333f19498","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-22-1509","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-22-1602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
