Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 25–2802","heading":"","body":"(a) In lieu of suspending or revoking a license for any cause for which license suspension or revocation is not required, the Board may impose a fine not exceeding $20,000 for each case, if:\n(1) the Board determines that the public welfare and morals would not be impaired by allowing the license holder to operate during the suspension period; and\n(2) the payment of the fine will achieve the desired disciplinary purposes.\n(b) Fines collected under this subsection shall be paid into the general fund of the county.\n(c) (1) When imposing a fine on a license holder or suspending or revoking a license, the Board shall adopt a written resolution containing:\n(i) a statement of the facts and findings forming the basis for the decision;\n(ii) the vote of each member of the Board on the decision; and\n(iii) information as to the procedures for appealing the decision.\n(2) A copy of the resolution shall be mailed or hand delivered to the license holder.\n(d) The Board shall adopt regulations to carry out this section.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=25-2802","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"c14ac2997cb09888badd75e500f353b3b84b9c267ff1acffc75ec649687c0f65","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-25-2801","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-26-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
