Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 26–1509","heading":"","body":"(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, the Board may not issue a license that has an off–sale privilege to:\n(1) an establishment commonly known as a chain store, supermarket, or discount house; or\n(2) a franchisor, franchisee, or concessionaire of the establishment.\n(b) An establishment described in subsection (a) of this section that held a license on July 1, 1973:\n(1) may continue to hold the license; and\n(2) at the discretion of the Board, may change the class of the license.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=26-1509","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"66cfda7472114288c98f12d60739b0cfeaaff8dda6d49339320bec633de5def2","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-26-1508","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-26-1510"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
