Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 26–1601","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) Except as otherwise provided in this title, the number of licenses in a class issued by the Board may not exceed:\n(i) Class A beer, 4;\n(ii) Class B beer, 23;\n(iii) Class C beer, 3;\n(iv) Class D beer, 33;\n(v) Class A beer and light wine, 7;\n(vi) Class B beer and light wine, 45;\n(vii) Class B–GC beer and light wine, 4;\n(viii) Class C beer and light wine, 8;\n(ix) Class D beer and light wine, 99;\n(x) Class A beer, wine, and liquor, 143;\n(xi) Class B beer, wine, and liquor, 215;\n(xii) Class B–AE beer, wine, and liquor, 15;\n(xiii) Class BCE beer, wine, and liquor, 8;\n(xiv) Class B–CI beer, wine, and liquor, 2;\n(xv) Class B–DD beer, wine, and liquor:\n1. under § 26–1614(a)(1) of this subtitle, 4;\n2. under § 26–1614(a)(2) of this subtitle, 4;\n3. under § 26–1614(a)(3) of this subtitle, 6;\n4. under § 26–1614(a)(4) of this subtitle, 6;\n5. under § 26–1614(a)(5) of this subtitle, 4;\n6. under § 26–1614(a)(6) of this subtitle, 10;\n7. under § 26–1614(a)(7) of this subtitle, 3;\n8. under § 26–1614(a)(8) of this subtitle, 5;\n9. under § 26–1614(a)(9) of this subtitle, 2;\n10. under § 26–1614(a)(10) of this subtitle, 1;\n11. under § 26–1614(a)(11) of this subtitle, 1;\n12. under § 26–1614(a)(12) of this subtitle, 1;\n13. under § 26–1614(a)(13) of this subtitle, 1; and\n14. under § 26–1614(a)(14) of this subtitle, 10;\n(xvi) Class B/ECF beer, wine, and liquor, 1;\n(xvii) Class B–ECF/DS beer, wine, and liquor, 2;\n(xviii) Class B–ECR beer, wine, and liquor, 1;\n(xix) Class B–Stadium (baseball stadium) beer, wine, and liquor, 1;\n(xx) Class B–Stadium (football stadium) beer, wine, and liquor, 1;\n(xxi) Class B–WPL (waterfront pavilion) beer, wine, and liquor, 3; and\n(xxii) Class C beer, wine, and liquor:\n1. under § 26–1002 of this title, 1;\n2. under § 26–1005 of this title, 12;\n3. under § 26–1011 of this title, 25;\n4. under § 26–1017 of this title, 30; and\n5. under § 26–1019 of this title, 4.\n(2) The Board may not issue a new Class A license for or approve the transfer of a Class A license to a location within three–fourths of a mile of a correctional facility, as defined in § 1–101 of the Correctional Services Article, in Upper Marlboro.\n(b) This section does not invalidate a license in a class that exceeded the maximum number for the class as of June 1, 1955.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=26-1601","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"be4cda00b5df6ef75bd0d7c04847dd65bc7165bacbc3779a132b1669e4553c58","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-26-1517","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-26-1602"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
