Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 26–2708","heading":"","body":"(a) A license holder may not sell alcoholic beverages by means of a self–scanning cash register or other automated system that is:\n(1) capable of recovering stored information related to the sale price of individual retail items; and\n(2) operated on a self–service basis by a customer.\n(b) If a license holder violates this section, the Board may impose on the license holder:\n(1) for a first offense, a fine not exceeding $1,000;\n(2) for a second offense, a fine not exceeding $2,500; and\n(3) for a third or subsequent offense:\n(i) a fine not exceeding $2,500; or\n(ii) suspension or revocation of the license.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=26-2708","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"5397f0c372f81b11af8ff01daac8ce10aa786620730ea76a53dbb5d09ae2cc42","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-26-2707","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-26-2801"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
