Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 27–1404","heading":"","body":"(a) In this section, “controlling interest” means the ownership or control of sufficient shares or interest in a business to allow for an exercise of control over that business.\n(b) An applicant for a license shall:\n(1) include a statement in the application that the applicant is at least 21 years old; and\n(2) submit an affidavit verifying the application.\n(c) (1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection, a license holder shall meet all requirements of the respective licenses.\n(2) The term “financial interest” as used in § 4–109(a)(11), (13), and (16) of this article refers to an applicant who is the owner of a controlling interest in a place of business for which a license has been applied for or issued.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=27-1404","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"2075cb6115eafaf3099a0b6332743914578e8c347ba3324c52ac851f7409ff9d","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-27-1403","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-27-1405"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
