Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 28–2802","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) A person who violates a law relating to hours or days for the sale of alcoholic beverages is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment or a fine not exceeding $250 or both.\n(2) If the Board finds that a person has violated a law relating to licensing the sale of alcoholic beverages, the Board may:\n(i) revoke or suspend the person’s license;\n(ii) impose a civil penalty not exceeding $2,500; or\n(iii) both revoke or suspend the person’s license and impose a civil penalty not exceeding $2,500.\n(b) If an employee of a license holder sells alcoholic beverages to an individual under the age of 21 years the Board may impose a fine on the employee not exceeding $500 per offense.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=28-2802","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"03bad5cc7bb535b8c85430b01d267fd88c82994020709b5c666a31cc93bc8965","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-28-2801","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-29-101"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
