Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 3–301","heading":"","body":"(a) Subject to subsection (b) of this section, a license holder or a receiver or trustee for the benefit of creditors may:\n(1) transfer the license holder’s place of business to some other location; or\n(2) transfer the license and the license holder’s inventory to another person.\n(b) A transfer under subsection (a) of this section may be made if:\n(1) an application for the transfer has been made;\n(2) all sales and use, amusement, admission, and withholding taxes have been paid to the Comptroller;\n(3) a bulk transfer permit has been obtained if the inventory of alcoholic beverages is to be transferred:\n(i) in any manner, including by sale, gift, inheritance, and assignment; and\n(ii) regardless of whether consideration is paid; and\n(4) the Executive Director approves the new location or license holder in the same way the Executive Director approves the issuance of a license.\n(c) An applicant may apply for a transfer of location and a transfer of ownership in the same application.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=3-301","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"db73defc66b8ed7f8e69102047bac4fa1f68f217aae45e3fc78e59b36a767b7b","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-3-207","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-3-302"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
