Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 31–1309","heading":"","body":"(a) There is a liquor tasting license (LTL).\n(b) The Board may issue the license to a holder of any class of beer, wine, and liquor license.\n(c) The license authorizes the holder to allow:\n(1) the on–premises consumption of liquor for tasting; and\n(2) a wholesaler or supplier to present various liquors from a single brand owner.\n(d) The license holder shall notify the Board in writing at least 10 days before a tasting event.\n(e) A license holder may not serve more than 1 ounce of a single liquor to a single individual.\n(f) (1) A maximum of four bottles may be open at any one time at a liquor tasting event.\n(2) After a bottle of liquor is opened for a tasting event:\n(i) the contents of the bottle may not be mixed with that of any other bottle; and\n(ii) the bottle shall be destroyed when empty.\n(g) A license holder may not charge for the liquor tasting.\n(h) The license may be used for a maximum of:\n(1) 12 days in a licensing year for a 12–tasting license; and\n(2) 24 days in a licensing year for a 24–tasting license.\n(i) A single tasting event may not exceed 4 hours.\n(j) The annual license fees are:\n(1) $300 for a 12–tasting license; and\n(2) $500 for a 24–tasting license.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=31-1309","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"e3a4ecf0f7a231cf58f1d3f85d67943b404fcbe3eb1de943024940f6d9cb4760","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-31-1308","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-31-1312"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
