Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 32–303","heading":"","body":"(a) The Governor shall appoint three members to the Liquor Control Board with the advice and consent of the Senate.\n(b) Each member of the Liquor Control Board shall be:\n(1) a resident and voter in the county; and\n(2) an individual of high character, integrity, and recognized business capacity.\n(c) (1) A member of the Liquor Control Board may not:\n(i) have a direct or indirect financial interest in the manufacture or sale of alcoholic beverages; or\n(ii) derive profit or remuneration from the sale of alcoholic beverages other than the salary or wages payable for the discharge of the duties of the office.\n(2) A person who violates this subsection is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $2,000 or both.\n(d) The term of a member is 2 years and begins on July 1.\n(e) If a vacancy occurs, it shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same manner as the original appointment.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=32-303","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"7c8128df48a4cba8b6009ce55c1afadee33f9a47bd5a60a4b6b3656b5ea9720c","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-32-302","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-32-304"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
