Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 33–304","heading":"","body":"(a) The Department shall appoint employees necessary to operate the dispensary system, set employee compensation, and require a bond for the faithful performance of employee duties.\n(b) (1) An employee of the Department may not:\n(i) have a direct or indirect financial interest in the manufacture or sale of alcoholic beverages; or\n(ii) derive profit or remuneration from the sale of alcoholic beverages other than the salary or wages payable for the discharge of the duties of the office.\n(2) A person who violates this subsection is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 3 years or a fine not exceeding $2,000 or both.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=33-304","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"2c418ecb4ef17f3847d9c8357c1701894f29a5c944825d88aea59e28f614e9a7","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-33-303","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-33-305"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
