Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 6–328","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may not:\n(1) knowingly or willfully possess, transport, sell, offer for sale, or, on the person’s property, store or authorize storage of an alcoholic beverage on which the tax imposed by the Tax – General Article has not been paid;\n(2) evade a tax imposed on an alcoholic beverage under the Tax – General Article;\n(3) counterfeit a stamp or certificate required under this article or the Tax – General Article; or\n(4) violate a regulation that the Comptroller or the Executive Director adopts under this article or the Tax – General Article.\n(b) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding 5 years or a fine not exceeding $10,000 or both.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=6-328","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"4e81b618147119cc8b1094f0ea913fdee92d46e161536b7a774ac322c842fbaa","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-6-327","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-6-329"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
