Code, Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis § 9–2501","heading":"","body":"(a) (1) An individual may not possess or consume an alcoholic beverage during the hours stated in paragraph (2) of this subsection in an establishment that:\n(i) is not licensed by the Board; but\n(ii) is:\n1. a restaurant, tavern, hotel, club, dance studio, or disco;\n2. a place of public entertainment;\n3. a place open to the public;\n4. a place that is licensed by the State or the county; or\n5. a place at which setups or other component parts of mixed alcoholic drinks are sold.\n(2) The prohibition under paragraph (1) of this subsection is in effect:\n(i) from Monday to Saturday, from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m.; and\n(ii) on Sunday, after 1 a.m.\n(b) An owner or a manager of an establishment under subsection (a) of this section may not allow consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages that is prohibited under this section.\n(c) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $500 for each offense.","path":["Article - Alcoholic Beverages and Cannabis"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gab\u0026section=9-2501","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:03Z","sha256":"5de3aeafd082c7d09246a16602ad045afec3b36c0a952eaded186425e4c890de","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-9-2401","next":"us-md/md.-code-alcoholic-beverages-and-cannabis-9-2601"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
