Code, Business Occupations and Professions § 12–401","heading":"","body":"(a) A person may engage in the business of providing plumbing services if:\n(1) the person is a master plumber or holder of a limited master plumber license; or\n(2) the person:\n(i) designates a master plumber or holder of a limited master plumber license who actively directs, controls, and is responsible for all plumbing services; and\n(ii) otherwise provides the plumbing services in accordance with this title.\n(b) A person may engage in the business of providing propane gas services if:\n(1) the person is the holder of a propane gas fitter certificate; or\n(2) the person:\n(i) designates a holder of a propane gas fitter certificate who actively directs, controls, and is responsible for all propane gas services; and\n(ii) otherwise provides the propane gas services in accordance with this title.\n(c) A person may engage in the business of providing natural gas services if:\n(1) the person is the holder of a master natural gas fitters license; or\n(2) the person:\n(i) designates a holder of a master natural gas fitters license who actively directs, controls, and is responsible for all natural gas services; and\n(ii) otherwise provides natural gas services in accordance with this title.","path":["Article - Business Occupations and Professions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbo\u0026section=12-401","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:13Z","sha256":"add2ea99457c978fe4f0df64783b249e90ac932fc073e0bede1264b1653589be","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-12-314","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-12-402"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
