Code, Business Occupations and Professions § 16–208","heading":"","body":"(a) To protect the interests of the public, the Commission shall promptly adopt, by regulation:\n(1) appraisal standards of conduct for all individuals licensed or certified as real estate appraisers under this title, including standards regarding conflicts of interest and ethical conduct; and\n(2) a code of ethics and standards of practice for individuals licensed as home inspectors under this title.\n(b) The Commission shall promptly adopt at a minimum the uniform standards of professional appraisal practice of the appraisal foundation to meet the requirement under subsection (a) of this section.\n(c) At the request of a licensee or certificate holder, the Commission shall provide a copy of the appraisal standards it adopts to the licensed or certified real estate appraiser or a copy of home inspection standards it adopts to the licensed home inspector.","path":["Article - Business Occupations and Professions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbo\u0026section=16-208","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:13Z","sha256":"9fc99cd79631cf7adf5ef85373beaf007da701dacb8259f42613f3c26b84b179","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-16-207","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-16-209"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
