Code, Business Occupations and Professions § 16–5B–06","heading":"","body":"(a) A person applying for registration as an appraisal management company shall designate an individual to serve as a controlling person that will be the main contact for all communication between the Commission and the appraisal management company.\n(b) The controlling person designated under subsection (a) of this section shall:\n(1) have never had a license or certificate to act as an appraiser refused, denied, canceled, revoked, or surrendered in any state, unless the license or certificate was subsequently granted or reinstated;\n(2) be of good character and reputation, as determined by the Commission; and\n(3) submit to a background investigation, as determined by the Commission.","path":["Article - Business Occupations and Professions"],"source_url":"https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Laws/StatuteText?article=gbo\u0026section=16-5B-06","current_through":"2026-01-01","vintage":"","retrieved_at":"2026-09-14T19:56:13Z","sha256":"b22f02608fb7e5fa66b5b813c1399576651e6f8c9b77f559f4fb1ce745ceec05","source_id":"us-md","stale":false,"prev":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-16-5b-05","next":"us-md/md.-code-business-occupations-and-professions-16-5b-07"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
